A police officer continuously sprayed him in the face

I witnessed an upset mother carrying her crying child. She put her down right outside a parking garage where several protestors, about 4 or so, gathered around to try to help. They all offered water to rinse her eyes when the mother confirmed the child, who was crying profusely, had been exposed to tear gas. It was in the early afternoon, right after the first wave of tear gas was shot by police.
The initial gathering, of at least 100+ protestors, was divided into smaller groups around the city by police. I joined different groups in different spots as we moved to avoid the police who blocked off streets, sprayed pepper spray, tear gassed people, and marched, in formation, toward us, baton first. One sizable group I was a part of faced off police who were lined up in their road-blocking formation. We watched them smiling and chatting with their fellow officers as Sheriff Gladieux appeared to be giving them orders, walking up and down the line and speaking to different officers.
At one point I was with a relatively small group of people when we got caught in what seemed to be a trap set by police who had blocked both ends of the street and a side alley/driveway with their vehicles and their bodies. I was walking on the sidewalk when I was told by fellow protestors to run because, without warning from police, tear gas had been shot into Friemann Square, which was across the street and behind me. I froze because I had nowhere to run. I was trapped on two sides by walls of police, another side by an actual stone wall, and the last side by a wall of tear gas. More tear gas caninsters flew, thickening the wall behind me. I had no safe direction to run toward so I chose the police.
When I looked around I saw a young man/teenager wiping his face and looking down while a police officer continuously sprayed him in the face. This seemed to be the case for most people within arms reach of police officers. I watched as people climbed over the stone wall next to me to get into the grass to escape the gas and pepper spray. Police tried to stop them, despite it being the safest option. Someone near me put his hands up and asked the cops where to go. The police stuttered and pointed to the wall of tear gas. A protestor took my arm and guided me through Freimann Square. I could not see or breath as I stumbled through the park, there were tear gas canisters all over the park. When I had made it out I was met immediately by protestors spraying my face with water and offering me milk. I ran with other protestors through back sidewalks and parks, no longer taking any chances, even though nowhere had proven to be safe. When I had gotten far enough away I promptly found a bush where I threw up. Because of the remaining police presence blocking off streets and firing tear gas, I was unable to get to my car until late that night and instead had to walk to a friends house.
