I passed 5+ police officers who acknowledged I was there and said nothing to me as I walked further down the street. I made it probably 75-100 yards past them before I walked up to a group of maybe 20-30 riot officers who started shouting at me that I couldn’t be there. I asked why and was laughed at. They then said (as they were surrounding me) that if I didn’t leave, I would be under arrest. Then directly placed me under arrest without even given a chance to comply. Throughout this I had two other friends with me who were also placed under arrest. When we were arrested they threw us on the ground and hit us multiple times. I came out of it with a swollen face and a bloody nose. The officers also laughed when I told them I had constitutional rights that protected me and allowed me to be there. I then spent all weekend in jail for just simply walking down the sidewalk. I had no weapons on me. The police simply thought I would be a good target to beat and arrest, because they think they’re above the law.
