I am not violent, the police are violent. At that time the police where showing themselves as the enemy.

I arrived at the protest shortly after 5pm and ran when tear gas was without warning dropped from the roof top onto the crowd that I was part of. My eyes burned for 3 days despite the use of milk and a shower which helped some. I felt sick the whole next day. I am not violent, the police are violent. A kind stranger gave me a ride to my car because I was parked a couple blocks away and am new to the area. As I tried to find my car more tear gas was being dropped and engulfed downtown. Anyone living or working in downtown Fort Wayne could have been affected just by being outside. I had to depend on the kindness of a man, a fellow citizen I didn’t know, because at that time the police where showing themselves as the enemy. People have to help people because the police are against us. Not that it matters but I am a white women and a black man helped me that day. He took a risk too for putting a stranger in his car, but he seen my BLM sign and knew what was happening.
