The protest was peaceful, and there was a great turnout, even kids attending with their parents. They sent out lots of coalition people to supposedly tell protestors to disperse, but the entire time I walked past many groups of coalition people just standing in a group watching the protest and not once did they give orders to disperse. As well as the police that showed up in riot gear, they never gave orders to disperse, yet they still tear gassed a peaceful crowd where children were present. They tear gassed citizens on the courthouse lawn where we have a right to protest. The experience for me was disappointing on behalf of Fort Wayne police. These acts should not have been taken, and they should be extremely ashamed of these violent acts they caused, especially the loss of an eye of an innocent citizen. Fort Wayne, along with the rest of the country are fed up.
